MONTREAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER- LANA NIMMONS

From Montreal, Quebec, Canada, I've been documenting love and the beauty of human connection for many years. Documenting weddings has taken me throughout Canada, Europe, and Asia. Whether it's the intimate or the adventurous, I am driven by a desire to document experiences and genuine human connection. My ability to distill moments of love into art comes from my intuition and genuine care for my couples. As a photographer, I strive to strike a balance between composed, curated moments and raw, authentic emotions.

FAQs

  • Yes! Always!

  • As a photographer, I work closely with my couples to discover photographs that exceed their expectations through exploring our wildest ideas. My style is a candid, photojournalistic approach with ethereal and poetic elements. I observe light and movement, immersing myself into my clients’ story, capturing natural and authentic moments. Through the years, I've also mastered the art of posing my clients- just because an image is composed doesn’t mean it has to be cookie cutter.

  • Both! Digital, 35mm, and medium format film. Digital is more logistically convenient, but sometimes I can use film to add feeling.

  • Absolutely! I’d be happy to send you some full wedding galleries so you can get an idea of what to expect.

  • You should only purchase what you need. A second photographer is never a bad thing, however a lot of the time, large weddings can be effectively captured with a single photographer with a good assistant. A second shooter is generally most useful if there are logistical constraints like a long drive between staging areas or a deadline for portraits.

  • 14 years! Before I photographed my very first wedding I worked as a music photojournalist. This is where I discovered my style.

  • I photograph a mixture of small and large wedding every season, from intimate 15 person destination weddings to 400 guest hooplas.

  • I average 50-100 delivered photos per hour, depending on the craziness of the reception. I am a machine.

  • I use two memory card slots on each camera, so any time a card fails, we don’t lose any moments. I also bring redundant digital cameras in case of hardware failure. Everything I do has been honed by years of experience and follows industry best practices.

  • Yes! My side hustle is also wedding photography.

  • Everyone feels this way, but don't worry! When you're working with me, you'll forget about the camera and your photos will look amazing.

Almost everybody on the front page of this site felt the same way, and their photos turned out OK, I think.

  • If there’s turbulence on your flight but the flight attendant is chill, you’re going to be okay. I pride myself on being the calm in the storm. I stay calm, and we have fun.
